I too was born in the US but my mother is from the Philippines. I've been there 3 times and going again next year. It truly is an amazing experience every time. My family there lives in a poor province but I have a passion for their being so content. They have no reason not to be. They have simple yet fulfilling lives, whenever I leave there I miss it immediately!
